The Effect of the Jigsaw Technique on the Knowledge and Skills of Nursing Students

Background: The Jigsaw technique is a modern method that enables the creation of positive learning environment.In this study, we aim to determine impact on students’ knowledge level regarding arterial blood pressure and their performance skill level. Material Methods: A quasi-experimental design study was conducted 60 first year nursing students atSakarya University. Students in control group received traditional while intervention had activities. Data collected through “Arterial Blood Pressure Knowledge Test” Skill Performance Test”. Cronbach Alpha, Mann Whitney U Test, Independent T-Test, were used for data analysis. Results Discussion: Arterial test score ranking average (42.38) significantly higher than those (18.62) (p<.05). Besides, (78.00±6.72) found group, which 58.00±15.11 Conclusion: According obtained, it concluded jigsaw more effective increasing performance.
